Wastewater Treatment

• Designed, built and conducted a pilot study with various alternatives to treat lead contaminated water at Hanover Lake, Fort Dix New Jersey. Source of lead was primarily the firing ranges at the installation.
• Alternatives tested included multi-media depth filter followed by: (i) activated carbon, (ii) KDF medium, and (iii) carbon and resin beds.
• Achieved greater than 80% reduction (levels below detection level of 3 ppb) in lead concentration using alternative 3.
• Technical effectiveness, construction and operation costs for full scale units were presented to Ft. Dix.
